ROOTS

GO WITHIN. GROW BEYOND.

GO WITHIN. GROW BEYOND.

Everything we see above the surface begins with what lies beneath it.

What Is Roots?

Roots is a space to slow down, reconnect and spend a little time working on yourself. In this video, I explain why I created Roots, what happens when you join us and why this part of the community means so much to me.

If you’re wondering who I am and why I’m so passionate about helping people, I’ve written the story behind it all.

No marketing.

No highlight reel.

Just an honest account of the journey that shaped my life.

JOIN US EVERY SATURDAY

Every Saturday at 9:00am, we come together for one hour to pause, reflect and reconnect. Each session is different, but you can expect guided meditation, open discussion, mindfulness and honest conversations in a safe and welcoming space.

Roots is currently held in Ironbridge, but will be moving into its own dedicated home in Dawley in 2027. My vision is to keep Roots as a free community service for as long as possible. The support from the Lifting Club, Personal Training and Sports Massage allows me to create and protect this space without putting a price on something I believe should be accessible to everyone.

Whether it’s your first session or your fiftieth, you’re welcome to come exactly as you are.

WHY ROOTS?

Before I became a personal trainer, before I became a sports massage therapist, before I built businesses, there was something else that transformed my life. It wasn’t found in the gym. It wasn’t found in books. It was found in creating space to pause.

Through years of therapy, meditation and self-reflection, I discovered that many of the challenges we experience externally are often reflections of what’s happening internally. When we slow down, observe rather than react, and become curious about ourselves, we begin to see life differently.

That’s where Roots began.

COMMUNITY WORK WITH CHARITIES

Roots isn’t just something that happens inside four walls. It’s about creating spaces where people feel supported enough to begin changing their own lives.

I was approached by a local charity to deliver a 12-week rehabilitation programme for men rebuilding their lives after prison, addiction and other personal challenges. Each session combined physical training, open discussion, guided meditation and activities such as cold water therapy and river dips. The goal wasn’t simply to improve physical health, but to help each person reconnect with themselves, build resilience and realise that change is possible.

One of the biggest lessons I took away was this: we must be careful not to define people by their past. Every person deserves the opportunity to grow, and growth begins when we create space for it.

I wasn’t there to change these men. They changed themselves. My role was simply to hold the space, offer guidance and remind them that they were capable of more than the story they had been telling themselves. They had to choose to show up each week, and that’s where real transformation began.

1. THE BEGINNING

It started as a small free meditation class with no expectations. Week after week, people came together to pause, reflect, share experiences and support one another. Over time, it became something much bigger than meditation. It became a community.

A place where people could take a step back from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with themselves.

2. HOW ROOTS WORKS

WHAT TO EXPECT

Every week is different. Some sessions are quiet and reflective, others become deep conversations. There is no expectation to speak or share. Simply come as you are and take what you need from the space.

3. WHO IS ROOTS FOR?

IF YOU…

Then Roots may be exactly what you need.

4. the purpose

Most of what happens here will always remain free because I believe everyone deserves access to a space where they can pause, reflect and reconnect with themselves. Some things are simply too valuable to measure by a price tag.

My hope is that when you leave Roots, you don’t leave with all the answers. You leave seeing your own life a little more clearly. Because sometimes that’s all we need.

A pause. A new perspective. The courage to keep growing.

5. The ROOTS philisophy

Just like a tree, everything you see above the surface is supported by what lies beneath it. Our relationships. Our health. Our confidence. Our purpose. Our ability to navigate life.

They all grow from the foundations we build within ourselves. Without strong roots, everything else becomes unstable. That’s why Roots now has its own home alongside the Lifting Club. Not because it’s separate from the rest of my business, but because it’s the foundation of it. The gym strengthens the body. Coaching develops knowledge. Sports therapy restores movement.

Roots strengthens the person.

6. COMMUNITY

Growth rarely happens in isolation. While everyone’s journey is different, there is something powerful about sharing space with people who are also choosing to pause, reflect and grow. Roots isn’t built around one person teaching everyone else. It’s a community where we learn from each other’s experiences.
